Liner paper also hides the tapewire more thoroughly, and on a ceiling, that makes finding the tapewire for the hookups more difficult. So, I’m spackling… | ![]() |

| My Friends at Hobby Builder Supply have a customer who purchased a #9043 roombox and some Minigraphics Mucilage, and asked for an assurance that the mucilage would work on the lacquered surface of the roombox. I replied that I had always used “YES!” paste when wallpapering over lacquer, but that I would test the mucilage, compare it to YES!, test them both against my ‘go to’ standard pre-mixed wallpaper paste that I buy by the quart. Customizing the Victoria’s Farmhouse, part 5
Friday, January 7th, 2011I’ve been finishing up the wiring on my Victoria’s Farmhouse, Running tapewire around the dividers (which I put in after the “up-and-over” runs on each floor), making the connections, and putting a power jack in the foundation. Here’s the diagram that I have been following for this build; the red wires were put in before the dividers:

Thursday, November 18th, 2010When I played with the miniatures in Customizing a Victoria’s Farmhouse, part 1, I made a floorplan with a bathroom on the second floor. Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010The Victoria’s Farmhouse is a great house to build, and a great house to move into. It has big rooms, an interesting interior shape, and access from the side for the front room. LED Lighting in a Miniatures Showcase
Monday, June 7th, 2010I’ve been answering questions about our new Extrabrite LED striplights and how to use them (and a picture is worth 1000 words!), so here’s the scoop:
LED lights are perfect for lighting up a display. They are small, easy to install, and easy to keep out of the way; they are bright and use very little power; and they last a long, long time. But the big advantage in LEDs inside a closed display is that LEDs turn most of their power into light – they make much less heat than incandesent bulbs so there’s no need for venting or fans.
